What Every Yeast Infection Sufferer Should Know

Understand the cause of Yeast infections and why they keep coming back, in order to permanently stop them from occurring.
Yeast Infections are a symptom of a more serious problem. You are most likely aware that yeast infections are the result of an overgrowth of Candida Albicans, but did you know that Yeast Infections can affect all parts of the body.
Surface Yeast Infections can affect the vagina, mouth, skin, anus, groin or just about anywhere on the human body.
A common forgotten fact is that men can get Yeast Infections too. In fact if a man gets jock itch that spreads over his scrotum or penis, then the most likely cause is a Yeast Infection, since jock itch is not know to affect these areas.
If the yeast infection is only the symptom, then where does the yeast infection come from?
Inside our bodies and on our skin, yeast resides in the form of Candida, when our immune system suffers the Candida can spread causing an infection. If it is an internal infection in the stomach or bowel, it can soon manifest into skin infections as well.
The other possibility is that you suffer some kind of skin damage with a lowered immune system, allowing the Candida on your skin to penetrate and cause a rash. This is common with wearing wet clothing and underwear that rubs against your skin, causing friction and skin damage.
The most common defense against Yeast Infections are topical creams or antibiotics. The problem with creams, are that while they may treat the surface yeast infection, if the Candida is being fuelled from deeper inside, then it will only re-occur in time. If the same creams are continually used to treat the infection, then eventually the Candida Yeast builds up a resistance, making it more difficult to treat.
The other treatment option is antibiotics, which may help to treat the Candida Yeast inside our bodies, but also kill off our good bacteria that keep the Candida from spreading. With no good bacteria the Candida would have free range to spread through every part of our body, inside and out.
So if there is any Candida Yeast left after treatment, which there always is, then it grows back stronger and more resistant.
Yeast Infections can be treated naturally, to prevent them from becoming resistant, however more long term measures may be needed to prevent them altogether.
You may need to alter your diet, in order to stop feeding the Candida, and essentially starve it death. Candida feeds off sugar, so avoiding all sugar would be necessary, however the anti Candida diet is more complex then just this. You must also avoid any foods which may stress or lower your immune system and digestive process.
